Designing an experiment

Designing an experiment is not as tough as it seems. As every experiment is different from the other, the method of designing too, is different. To design an experiment, for a researcher it is essential to look through the experiment. Although many believe conducting experiments is easy, what some may not know is that the researcher has to design experiments using his own laboratory expertise and modeling systems.

The steps of designing an experiment are :

1. Understanding the science behind it, the materials and resources required, as well as protocol that has to be followed meticulously.

2. Knowing your resources & availability to plan accordingly.

These little but extremely significant steps allow researchers to pave the way off obstacles and excel with positive results.

3. Don't jump the gun. Focus on smaller details of experiments & not directly onto the big picture.

Don't forget that with great expectations of positive results in the field of research, come unavoidable hindrances.

Once a researcher takes these steps into consideration, every hindrance that could have been unavoidable can turn into avoidable one, when tackled with proper care.

4. Hoping about planning an experiment in order for it to run smoothly, one must not deny the possible hindrances that can be faced in the way.

Always remember that groundbreaking and life changing research studies don’t happen overnight; it takes several months and sometimes years for an experiment to run smoothly to get predictable positive outcomes. But it is worth the wait. Because once positive results are achieved, the happiness is unexplainable.

5. Consider all the factors that might lead to failure of the experiment & also the ones that might help you excel in it. Make a list of both these & keep them in mind. Believe that you'll get positive results but don't be overconfident. Because confidence is a fine trait, overconfidence isn’t.

Following these simple yet significant steps is the only best way for a researcher to conduct the experiment with all the resources to get predictable positive outcomes like the great scientist they have always been !

Good luck !
