From ancient to modern times: Spirituality and science wreathing Lord Rama and his Janmabhoomi - Science behind Sanatan Dharma (SOSD #6)

Updated: Apr 9, 2024

After 500 years of struggle to regain the power and rights of establishing our core beliefs and history of ‘Rama Janmabhoomi’, the wait is finally over to bring back the true foundation of Lord Rama in Ayodhya and celebrate our history. With due respect, strong belief, and love for Sanatan Dharma, I dedicate this short article to celebrate the victory of truth.

The ancient scientific history behind ‘Lord Rama’:

Lord Rama is a revered god in Hindu history. He is the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. His name carries profound spiritual and philosophical connotations, and when broken down, each syllable reveals deeper scientific meanings. To begin with, the word ‘Ram’ or ‘Rama’ plays a scientific role when said by any individual. ‘Rama’ is a Taaraka mantra. Mantras are by definition, the thoughts that uplift the mind and soul. These mantras have magnetic powers. They have played an essential role in human evolution. Mantras have been used to motivate and guide the mind; because the mind cannot be controlled, and can only be guided. This mantra holds power in that it creates a vibration of the left side of the body together with the right one, thereby benefiting the ‘Muladhara’ and ‘Sahasra’ chakra. Chakras are energy centers in the body, and when they are blocked, physical, emotional, and spiritual imbalances happen.

The scientific reason behind Lord Rama's name significance can be deciphered by examining the symbolism of each syllable. "Ra" depicts enlightenment, light, and energy, while "Ma" signifies nurturing, love, and the material dimension of existence. As a whole, they encapsulate the profound cosmic harmony and the interconnection between science and spirituality. This word in itself is a reminder that science and spirituality can seamlessly coexist, complementing and enhancing each other for the betterment of humanity.

Modern science (Astronomy and Astrophysics) for The Rama Mandir :

Scientists from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Building Research Institute (CSIR-CBRI), Astronomers from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore, and the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune are working in collaboration on an optomechanical system to channel sunrays onto the forehead of Lord Rama on Ram Navami every year. The annual phasal movements within this optomechanical system will ensure that sun rays fall on the same point on the forehead of Lord Rama every year. This is a science that has never been experimented before. This requires immense knowledge of astronomy, the positions of the planets, and the sun.

Jai Shri Rama!!!

Thank you.
