It's International 'WOMEN IN SCIENCE DAY' !!

Wishing you all a Happy International Women in Science day !

After my recent article on Women's day, which was based on adversities faced by women in STEM, the comments I have received on my personal ID are astonishing..Not in an encouraging or a good way, but actually a surprising one. While some supported the article on adversities faced by women in STEM, there were some people who chose verbal violence. On reading their demotivating messages, I could literally come up with memes. worth dedicating to my critics. I appreciate my sense of humor on taking the negativity in a positive way. Dear critics, I am grateful for your demotivation and demoralizing comments. It's only making me stronger and smarter. Keep that coming ;)

So beginning with today's article...

Yet another day of women burgeoning in science. Right ? Maybe yes, maybe no !

When it comes to talking about women, a lot of people think that the person who talks about women and their empowerment in any ways is a 'FEMINIST' or an 'EXTREMIST'. (Yes this is for the ones who think I am a feminist; I'm not a feminist, I believe in Equality. And rather than pointing out people's notions, you should believe in Equality too !)

Most of us have a mindset that women are one step behind men in most of the fields and no matter how many sacrifices women make, they can never be as successful as men; whereas some have a notion that the inventions, discoveries and work by women has not been as recognised and appreciated as it should have been.

On the occasion of International women in science day today, part one of my article is to point out those underrated works of women in STEM & part two of this article is going to be posted on International women's day (8th March, 2019).

The contributions of women from basics to advanced scientific achievements have been remarkable.

No matter how strange & how many weird people in the society a woman in science goes through everyday, we try to dodge every bullet and flourish and grow through it.

I believe this is one of the least recognised and least celebrated days in the world.

Women are often thought to be of lesser importance than men in science but it is women who are also one of the major reasons behind the advances in STEM.

Starting right from the ancient history of intelligent scholars worldwide in STEM, female scientists have always taken science to an advanced stage.

Women have been blessed with multitasking personalities and have run the world irrespective of their professions.

Ok so here's the thing...

The success of any person can't be decided by anyone but can only be accelerated by them.

This happened in my case, I already had dreams of being a scientist & my family's support acted like a catalyst for me.

It's not always true that a person can flourish in anything on his own, most of the times, humans require motivation and support & so do women. If you can’t support or motivate a woman ambitious about making her career, don’t even demoralize her.

Without support from individuals in STEM and non STEM fields, women CAN flourish in their fields but with little support and motivation, women can act like wonders.

So here's to one more year of celebrating women in science changing the world in a miraculous way like they always have.

If you're a female reading this, may you support other women & succeed this coming year like you have succeeded till date.

& If you're a male reading this, may you empower and support women in science to help them make an amazing career and make a change in the world.

Together, let's inspire, empower, support, fund, motivate & help #WomenInScience and take the glory of every woman in the world to another level.

Together, let's march !!
